One Year!

via 16 House

Happy Birthday Blog! To celebrate, I made some mini cupcakes and took them to work today to share.

Part of me is not sure where the past year went. A few achievements, a holiday overseas and a move interstate. Somewhere in there I have managed to blog for one year. I wasn't sure if I would keep it up but I am so happy, celebrating with balloons, that I did. I have enjoyed reading so many crafty, design and inspirational blogs. Also receiving your comments, meeting new friends and being able to participate in charitable causes. Here is to another year, Ames xo

A week of baking...

A number of occasions this week have called for baking. I made chocolate butterfly and beetle cakes with chocolate icing earlier in the week for a birthday. Apparently they looked like wombats.

Mid week baking resulted in mini vanilla patty cakes with decorated pink frosting to celebrate the birth of a gorgeous baby girl. Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo of these. I must say, they were pretty cute.

Today, triple chocolate muffins to share amongst some crafty fun with the Brown Owls.

My creative space

I must admit, I have not been very crafty this week. Too many other things happening. However, I did bake some patty cakes earlier in the week for a new friend who is having her first baby. The pending arrival of a little girl called for girly pinks and purples and the vanilla/chocolate yummies went down a treat :)

a week of cakes...

It is the season to share. I have made a few batches of cupcakes this week to share with friends and with workmates. Tash and I had a Christmas lunch on Sunday with some wonderful friends (and talented cooks). I also made some cupcakes for work yesterday for our Christmas morning tea. They are not exquisitely decorated but tasted yummy and looked cute all the same.  Hope you are all having a nice week xo Ames

Cupcakes for Bookbinders

Just a quick post tonight. I had the last class of my bookbinding and book repair course this evening and we finished up with treats and drinks. I made these cupcakes to share. The frosting melted slightly as it was warm in the bindery, but the vanilla taste won over appearance. I also wanted to show you the excellent cupcake caddy that I use for occasions like these. It is fantastic - the cupcakes do not move at all during transport. You can also flip the tray over to house 24 mini cupcakes or take it out of the caddy to house a cake. What a great idea!

A day of pink: butterfly cupcakes for cancer awareness

A work morning tea to raise money for charity - breast cancer awareness - called for baking early this morning. I prepared these chocolate and strawberry cupcakes with white and pink butterfly adornments to share. Other workmates baked a range of pink themed goodies such as slices, biscuits and the little cupcakes that are also shown here. Of course, we all wore pink clothes or accessories today too!

My cupcakes were awarded best in the taste category at today's yearly craft and bake show at work. Very pleased with my prize of a pink spatula!
