Our backyard is full of flowers and today is a new day.

Here are a few things that I have enjoyed
while I have been catching up on my blog reading.
I hope you enjoy them too...

Made by Mosey, quilting for Africa

via

Heard about this via Frankie. Madeleine of Made by Mosey is raffling a handmade vintage tea towel quilt to raise money for those that are suffering in East Africa. All you have to do is donate...

Windswept hair at the Junction

The Junction Arts Festival has livened up Launceston since the 24th August. Many of you have also visited and I decided to snap some shots today, the last day of some arty fun.

The Inflatable Whale by artist Mark Cuthbertson has moved around the city. Delighting little kids and big kids alike.

I have been smiling all week as the Streets Alive Arts Trail: From Junky to Funky popped up around the hood. A few laughs this afternoon at Re-Made: Art Fashion for the 21st Century as some of the recycled and upcycled fashion were displayed. One described as being 'mad tight', a new term for the pool room.

And what crafter could forget to mention the Crocheted Chocolate installation at Nanna's Coffee and Vintage Cafe. The Launceston Brown Owls had a chocolate-y session, which unfortunately I had to miss. Loving the work.

Looking forward to next year's installment :)

Laa Laa Swap

A little while ago, I signed up for LaaLaa's Magic Ball swap. The aim of the game was to put together a group of gifts, crafty things and sweets and roll them up in some yarn. You are assigned a swap partner who does the same and then you exchange.

I posted mine awhile back and didn't want to share it on the blog till it arrived. No time to spoil the surprise. This is what I put together for Cindarell@ who likes bright colours.

Very happy to report that I have received my magic ball in the mail - all the way from Holland. Thank you Cinderella!

There was no way that Mayo, one of the cats, was going to let me enjoy unwrapping the ball without his involvement!

I am feeling very lucky indeed. I especially love the dragonfly ribbon and the babushka. Now to think of some projects to use my goodies...

many things...

It seems that I have been a little bit busy.
Commitments at work. Writing for a conference.
Neglecting the blog. But I am always here.

Escaped the flood warning

There was a flood warning in Launceston last night.
Luckily no harm came to our cultural collections at Inveresk.

Today

Walked through the streets. Walked through the parks. My place is truly beautiful.

Dreaming of New York. Listening to Jazz and swinging in the breeze.

Happy Monday (camera inspired)

My mind is on photography. Inspired to take photos after the road trip on Saturday.

Hoping that the weather will improve this week so that I can take the camera with me on adventures. What are you planning this week?

Here are a few camera inspired links to get me in the mood. Happy Monday! Ames xo

Out on the open road...

Set off on a road trip yesterday. Driving into the magical.

Roadkill. My heart skips a beat. I hope I never get desensitised.

The end of the day. The fog lifts. Drawing back the sheets.

Possibilities.

One Year!

via 16 House

Happy Birthday Blog! To celebrate, I made some mini cupcakes and took them to work today to share.

Part of me is not sure where the past year went. A few achievements, a holiday overseas and a move interstate. Somewhere in there I have managed to blog for one year. I wasn't sure if I would keep it up but I am so happy, celebrating with balloons, that I did. I have enjoyed reading so many crafty, design and inspirational blogs. Also receiving your comments, meeting new friends and being able to participate in charitable causes. Here is to another year, Ames xo

52 Weeks 52 Lists: things I am looking forward to

Well, I have missed a couple of lists since starting the '52 Weeks 52 Lists' project. I suspected that would happen - I will catch up at some point. Anyway, here is this week's list and for more head over here. Ames :)
