Love this: butterfly necklace

I seldom wear necklaces - more of a brooch person. But if I did, I would consider buying this butterfly necklace from AlteredEras on Etsy. The wooden base has been decorated with paper, vintage watch parts and chain. Quite special.

My creative space

Finally planning on making some 'we have moved house' cards to send people with our new contact details. I am cutting some corners by using pre-made cards and double sided tape, however we were lucky to stumble across this perfectly suited paper.

They are certainly different and would add interest to any home.

Happy Monday

I am thinking about reclaimed spaces this week.
I love the idea of converted buildings floating in a cloud of history.
Have a great week everyone, I hope something special comes your way.

    Fantastic DIY projects

Do you follow the Poppytalk blog? Jan and Earl regularly share DIY projects that are out of this world. Like this vintage suitcase medicine cabinet

I also love this expanding file which has been covered with a vintage book cover.

    Family Ties

A change in direction this weekend. An unexpected addition to the family.

We have had our handsome cat Kemuri for years now and love him dearly.
He is sensitive and very shy.

We have now added another kitty to the pack by bringing home Mayonaka.
    He seems a little rambunctious.

Muri is cautious. Mayo is an explorer.
Hopefully their personalities will balance out our family ties.

    Re-Joyce! A blanket!

    Image from Papillon Gold

You might recall that Wendy, Liz, Kathryn and I from our Plain Tiger Butterflies craft group made some crochet squares for Papillon Gold. The squares were part of a naming competition for the crochet pattern and for a blanket that would be donated to Knit4Charities. Congratulations to Nicole who won the naming competition - the pattern is now know as "Re-Joyce-ing".

As you can see, the blanket is well underway and is looking fabulous. A fantastic effort by all!

    My creative space

My creative space this week involves gardening. I had to pass on my plant collection when we moved from Melbourne due to quarantine laws. Tasmania does not allow the entrance of soil and plants from the mainland in the hope of stopping the spread of diseases. Therefore, I gave my plants to people that I love and respect in Melbourne. Good friends who will enjoy them.  Here are some of the plants, packed up and ready for a new home....

So the aim is to build up a lovely plant collection again. A perfect garden wonderland for our cat who enjoys hanging out amongst the greenery. I am slowly bringing home some new plants, pots and soil. Happy gardening for me! You can check out other creative people and creative spaces over here.

    The world at angles

    via Design Crush

How cool are these!! Geografia's Sectional Globes are designed to be assembled at home and you can colour them in. I think any little or big kid would love one (or two).

    Enjoying the view...

Lovely to have time to sit back and relax. To enjoy the view and contemplate life.
