Exothermic Reactions: Resin Jewellery Part 1
Collecting precious bits and pieces has always been a pastime of ours, placing the gems in boxes and jars around the house. These items include old movie and travel tickets, torn out articles and images, stamps, pieces of yarn or ribbon, random pieces of stationary, found items from the beach, and the list goes on.....
From the desire to create little time capsules that we could wear, we have learnt how to make resin jewellery. We have both been bitten by the resin bug and are in the process of coming up with a range of new ideas.
These are some of our earlier creations.....
Look out for future posts where we will share our know-how and provide instructions for making and finishing resin jewellery treasures.

Making stuff out of stuff: tape measure brooches
I was sitting on the train, gazing out the window and imagining what could be. Then I looked around the carriage for some people watching. My attention was quickly focused on a girl. She was wearing a tape measure brooch. This moment inspired me.... So I have made some of my own.
Why don't you try it for yourself! All you need is a tape measure, scissors, a hot glue gun, brooch clasps and optional extras such as buttons.
- Cut and arrange your pieces of tape measure, depending on your desired design.
- Adhere your pieces together, using the hot glue gun.
- When assembled, adhere a brooch clasp to the reverse. Alternatively, you could always make your design into a hair clip or necklace. Think outside the square.
