Knit Lab

image via Team Textiles

We went to the opening of Knit Lab last night, an interactive exhibition at Sawtooth ARI. A creation by Team Textiles - three talented textile artists.

The exhibition runs from 8th to 30th July and will evolve over the duration as visitors are encouraged to participate by contributing to the knitty artworks. I am planning on knitting a square or two.

Winter crochet tutorials

Two and a bit months have passed since I moved to Tasmania. Chilly is an understatement and I am surprised to have noticed an uncomfortable variation from the weather of Melbourne where I have spent the last eight years.

I am usually making some sort of craft year round but I think it is time to ramp up the knitting and crochet. Another lap blanket for the lounge in addition to this one which I made a little while back would be nice.

There are so many talented craftisans out there and I thought I would share some of the tutorials I have enjoyed reading, which would keep me warm head to toe.

Crafty wrapping for handmade gifts

We have been without the internet for a couple of days while we waited for a service technician to fix external wires in the neighbourhood. But we are back and wanted to share the work of a very talented friend with you.  These are two Christmas presents that we received and could not wait to open! The wrapping is so original - sewn!

Inside were some amazing handmade gifts - made by our friend Amy. We feel so lucky and will enjoy these presents for years to come.
